Lavender Essential Oil

Our essential oil can be used for a variety of uses. Made with Ontario lavender (Melissa, Folgate or Grosso varieties), add it to your bath, use it on your skin or sprinkle it on your pillow for a more restful sleep!

Scent Descriptions:

Grosso: Traditional lavender scent. Strong, camphorous.

Melissa: A sweeter, floral lavender scent.

Folgate: A subtle, sweet, slightly citrus lavender scent.

  • Bath additive: Add a few drops of oil to a bath to relax you and make your skin silky soft.

  • Aching muscles: Add a few drops to a bath full of Epsom salts to soothe aching muscles.

  • Acne: Because of its antibacterial properties, add a few drops of lavender oil to a plain face cream to combat acne

  • Burns (minor): After you have cooled the area by immersing it in running cold water for 5 minutes, gently stroke on neat lavender oil. Pain relief is almost immediate, and burn usually heals without scarring.

  • Cuts and scrapes: Apply lavender oil to soothe pain, prevent bacterial infection and aid scar-free healing.

  • Skin Irritations & Eczema: Stroke infused lavender oil (a few drops of lavender oil & carrier oil like coconut oil) into dry, itchy skin.

  • Bug bites: Dab your bug bite with lavender oil to relieve the itch

  • Sinusitis: Lavender is one of several essential oils that aromatherapists recommend for inhalations to relieve sinusitis, add two drops of lavender & thyme oil to a bowl of near-steaming water and inhale slowly and deeply, with a towel over your head & bowl.

  • Sleep: Lavender essential oil induces sleep which has made it a common recommendation for an alternative treatment of insomnia. Put it on your pillow or put a few drops in your bath to relax.

  • Dandruff: Lavender oil aids in faster recovery of the skin. Add it to your regular dandruff shampoo.

  • Alleviate Headaches: Place a drop of lavender oil on the upper lip so you can inhale it or make a compress of a piece of gauze or muslin soaked in icy cold water then sprinkle with a few drops of lavender oil and apply to the forehead, or massage a few drops into the forehead, temples and nape of the neck.

  • Hair Loss: Lavender oil has been shown to help with alopecia. Mix 3 drops of lavender oil, 3 drops of rosemary oil, 2 drops of thyme oil, 2 drops of cedarwood oil, 4 tsp. of  grapeseed oil and a half-tsp. of jojoba oil. Massage into scalp for 5 minutes and cover your hair with a towel.
